His parents bought the farm in 1925, and he sold the land to his cousins, Dave, Larry and Jerry, in 1999. Larry loved the land and was so proud that he lived in the same house all his life. He was a member of the Stark County Farm Bureau and the Congregational Church in Stark. He farmed for 50 years and worked security at Kress Corp. Larry was a 1957 graduate of Wyoming High School. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marilyn and brothers Frank and Kenny. Surviving are his best friend and companion since 2007, Elsie Dunn Leon of Kewanee nieces and nephews, Steve (Cindi) Streitmatter of Texas, Jonathan Streitmatter and Susan Streitmatter, both of Colorado, Bob (Patti) Duncan of Arizona and Joy Anderson of Washington and many great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. “Larry” Streitmatter, 83, of Wyoming, went home to be with his savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in Kewanee, after a long battle with cancer. She enjoyed traveling and taking in all the sights and scenery that this country has to offer, especially the mountains and deserts. Her home was full of paintings and murals, and anyone who visited knew to stop by her art studio to see her latest creation. She was a self-taught artist who mostly worked with oil paints. She is also survived by her brother, Roger (Arlene) Washburn.Ĭarol will be most remembered for her artistic abilities.
